Pancakes in Class 2
In Class 2, we have been learning about what you would find on the farm and why farms are important to us.
As part of this, we have been learning about the different foods that farms provide for us. We talked about how chickens lay eggs and eggs are a useful ingredient! This led us perfectly onto Pancake Day! All the children helped mix eggs, flour and milk to make the batter and then the children all got to fry and flip their own pancakes (and we didn't drop any, although there were a couple of near-misses!) At the end of the day, we even had a pancake picnic and tried out some different toppings.
We talked as a class about why we celebrate Pancake Day, how it is the last day before Lent and how Christians usually give up something for Lent.
