Religious Education
Holy Trinity CE (C) Primary School believes that religious education should provide a contemporary study of religion, preparing children for later life and ensuring they are a well-rounded member of our community. As a Church of England school, our RE provision reflects the RE Statement of Entitlement and ensures a balanced approach.
Respect, tolerance and understanding for the beliefs of others is promoted as part of our programme. Our RE provision uses the Understanding Christianity resources alongside units from the Lichfield Diocese to support our teaching of Christianity, Islam and the other major religions and world views, in line with the Staffordshire Locally Agreed syllabus.
Parents have the right to withdraw children from religious lessons and daily worship in collective worship/assemblies but it must be understood that such activities make a contribution to cross-curricular objectives pursued during the course of the school week.
